The Basics: Ab Workouts.

We always see people on television or
in magazines showing off their abs.

With some ab workouts you can get those abs too. Of course you should know, getting a six pack is one of the hardest things to do as far as fitness goes.

It takes a lot of work and motivation
to show your abs. Getting the abs you want will take some time. With motivation and consistency in your ab workouts you can get those abs you want.

Ok so... What do I do?

You may think you need to do a bunch of abdominal exercises such as crunches and sit-ups.

Well that’s true, but doing just crunches and sit-ups doesn't work out all your core ab muscles.

You need to perfect your own combination of ab workouts.

Try what’s right for you. Mix and match, you'll know if you feel the burn for that particular ab exercise. If you feel the burn, you know its working.

Abdominal Fitness Equipment

It is a good idea to have at least one piece of equipment when doing abdominal muscle exercises, a medicine ball or a fitness ball, or a ab wheel.

These three pieces of abdominal fitness equipment are used to help do a variety of other abdominal muscle exercises.

One particular abdominal muscle exercise I like to do is a medicine ball sit-up, (at least that is what I call it) as it helps strengthen all the muscles when you move from side to side as well.

Maintain a Well Balanced Diet

One of the most important things you need to do is to eat right when you want a six pack.

You don't want to be eating junk food when you work out your abs because all your work becomes useless.

In fact if you want to keep your six pack you’re going to have to say goodbye to the sweets permanently.

Okay... so you can still have the occasional cookie or sundae, but make it a rare occurrence.

Since most of your body fat is stored over your abdominal muscles you need to achieve a low rate of body fat.

To do this you need to eat foods low in fat and try to cut the saturated fats down.

Completely eliminate the Trans fats.

You want to make sure you don't eat late at night. If you are really hungry, have something protein based with low or no carbs, because carbs are stored as body fat when you sleep.
