Glutamic Acid : A Non Essential Amino Acid

Glutamic Acid is used in a variety of ways in our bodies. It is used in the metabolism of sugars and fats, helps deliver potassium across the blood-brain barrier, and also is expected to help treat things such as ulcers, neurological conditions, hypoglycemic come, muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, Parkinson's, and mental retardation.

What if I don't have enough?

There are no known symptoms of being deficient in this amino acid.

What if I have too much?

Symptoms include headaches and neurological problems.
