Threonine is one of 9 essential amino acids and is used in promoting muscle growth. You may know that but do you know what else it does in the body and why you need it?
What is it used for?
It is used to maintain the proper protein balance in your body and help assist in the formation of elastin and collagen in the skin.
It is also used in the production of antibodies in the immune system, liver function, and promoting thymus growth and activity. Other nutrients are more easily absorbed in the body when you take this essential amino acid. It has also been used to partly to treat mental health.

There is not really very many symptoms you will experience when you are deficient in this essential amino acid. There are only 2 main symptoms and they are irritability and a difficult personality.
