What is it Used For?
It is required the production of Niacin (Also known as Vitamin B3). It helps the body produce seratonin which is important to sleep, pain control, inflammation, and emotional moods.
It is used in controlling ADHD children in some cases, helping ease stress, weight loss, and reducing appetite.
How Much of it Should I Take?
No exact dosage is set for this amino acid. However, some studies used 300 - 600 mg to experiment on people with migraines and sleep disturbances. That dosage was also used for weight loss, and appetite control.
A 100 mg dose at night time has been proven to help people sleep better.
What if I Take Too Much?
Taking too much of this essential amino acid can result in headaches, anxiety, gastrointestinal upsets and sleepiness.

Some foods rich in this essential amino acid are cottage cheese, meat, soy protein, and peanuts.
